The aim of this course is to allow learners to work in the hairdressing sector, and to acquire and apply competencies required for safe, effective work practices at AQF level V. This course has been designed for those wanting to become owners or managers of a hairdressing salon and will develop their skills and knowledge in relation to service and sales delivery.

Functions at this level of training include the self-directed application of a broad range of knowledge and skills, and the provision of leadership and support to colleagues through the development and management of human resource development initiatives.

The student will focus on the skills and knowledge required for building a business, leading and developing a work team, developing and implementing marketing activities, and ensuring all occupational health and safety requirements are maintained.

 

Entry Requirements

Domestic Students
Pre-requisites for entry into this course are:

  • Students must be over 18 years of age,
  • Students must have completed Year 12 or the interstate equivalent

International Students
Pre-requisites for entry into this course are:

  • Students must be over 18 years of age,
  • Students must have completed an overseas equivalent of Year 12
  • Students must have an IELTS score of 5.5 or above and must provide documentation to that effect
