Should you require information or advice on class allocations, subjects you have completed, subjects you need to undertake, examinations, results, re-assessments, attendance and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), please contact Student Services, who will give you all the information you require or be directed to a relevant staff member for assistance.
In terms of personal matters or any other issue where students will require personal counseling, they will be referred to the welfare counsellor.

Student Card

  • In order to obtain a student card, you are required to give reception a Passport sized photograph. You will then be issued with a student card within a week.
  • The student card can be used as a concession card at museums, theatres,cinemas etc.
  • They are not valid on public transport in Sydney, as international students must pay adult fares.
  • There is a charge of $15 for replacement of a lost card

 

 

Medibank Card (Overseas Student Health Cover)

If you are on student visa, you are required to obtain Overseas Student Health Cover to cover your stay in Australia as a student. You must pay this amount before enrolling at Victory Institute of Professional Training.

  • Three to Four weeks after starting at Victory Institute you need to contact student service officer to obtain your AQBJ number.
  • You can then take this number with you to a Medibank Private office to obtain Your Medibank card.
  • Medibank Private address in central Sydney: 32 Martin Place ( between Pitt St and Castlereagh St)
  • Your Health Cover will cover the cost of:
    - Doctors -medical practitioners to treat you at home, in the hospital or at a practice
    - Pathology services such as blood tests
    - X-rays
    - Ambulance Transport
    - Prescribed medicines ( you are required to pay the first 21.90 and MedibankOSHC will cover the rest)
    - Medibank OSHC covers 85% of the cost of the Medicare Benefits Schedule and you pay the difference.
    - For medical services whilst in hospital, Medibank OSHC covers 100% of the Medicare Benefits Schedule, within public hospitals

From 14 August 2009, the following premiums apply to all new memberships which commence on or after 1 January 2010. These premiums will also apply to existing members who make payment in 2010. Further information is available at http://www.medibank.com.au.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is a government requirement.

* Family includes the student, the spouse of the student and any dependent children of the student up to 18 years of age who have been authorised to enter and remain with the student and who are residing at the same place of residence as the student in Australia.

Student Mail

If you wish to get your mail delivered to the school, student mail is kept in the tray at reception.

Student Services and Support

We make every effort possible to provide as much support as possible within our policies and resources to help all students achieve the required level of competency. Staff are available to assist in times of stress or pressure during the course. Students may make an appointment at any time to see a Student Services Officer for information or advice on:
  • class allocations,
  • subjects you have completed,
  • subjects you need to undertake,
  • examinations,
  • results,
  • coping with assessments and re-assessments,
  • attendance and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
  • ways of managing your time
  • assistance with the setting and achieving of your goals
  • tutorial support and assistance

However, if the need arises to seek counselling on more personal matters, you may make an appointment to speak with the welfare counsellor.
